Who is a 24-inch bike for?
Children between the ages of 7 and 11 years old are the primary target for 24-inch bikes. However, age alone shouldn’t be the sole determining factor. Other considerations should also be taken into account. It’s common for children to start on smaller bikes, such as 12 or 16 inches. Riders who are 42” – 52” tall and usually 5 – 9 years old will feel most comfortable with this size. While some may still need training wheels, the training wheels are easy to remove. It’s all up to what your little rider needs! The smallest size that doesn’t come with training wheels is the 20-inch bike.
Can adults ride 24 inch bikes?
Single frame adult bikes may be available in a range of wheel sizes, from 24” up to 29”. While the wheel size can offer guidelines for the recommended height range, always check the product description for each bike, as it may vary a little by model.
Can an adult ride a 24 inch bike?
A 24-inch bike is generally suitable for individuals with a height range of 4’6 to 5’5 (137 cm to 165 cm). Shorter arms or shorter legs, if you’re 5 foot or 5’1, I’d recommend a 24. If you believe your legs are average length, 26 is a great bike.
Should I get a 24 or 26 bike?
Smaller 24-inch ones are best suited to short riders or amateurs and 26-inch bicycles are more comfortable to ride, have a higher control, and speed up better in adults.
